Opticians and Optometrists - North West


Optometrists assess the eye and vision system. They also diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders of the eye and vision system. Opticians fit and adjust subnormal vision devices, contact lenses or eyeglasses.

In Ontario, regulated health professions are governed under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and health profession acts (e.g., Medicine Act, 1991).
